Most people tend to panic and their mental faculties immediately start to shut down everytime an error message appears on their computer monitors. Yes, they all have these moments every once in a while, especially if it involves
digital information technology. But the thing here is to keep your composure and start to think of the necessary steps to take so as to formidably provide a solution to your woes.
I have experienced a modem problem just last week, and I think you have encountered a similar problem within the duration of your information accessing ventures on the internet. This problem involved an error message telling me that the phone line had no functional dial tone. I started to think whether my machine started to develop a weird sense of humor that wasn't that funny at all, or I may have one of those spyware infections, or I may be experiencing a full-blown hacker attack!
Well, I started to think about the possible causes of the problem. I checked out my modem, the necessary connections, rebooted my computer, tweaked my system's
internet settings, etc., but everything turned out to be fine. I then called up my phone line provider, and got what I wanted out of my conversation with the help desk representative. I had this feature on my phone line called CallNotes, which enables me to have voice messaging functions on my phone line. Apparently, I had a number of unopened messages on my voice message list, and that was affecting the performance of my phone line. I was told to open the voice messages, then manually delete the voice messages so as to get rid of the problem once and for all. After doing so, I didn't have that irritating dial tone problem that was hindering me from establishing a functional internet connection. A brief lesson learned from my experience would be that we all should take time to know the most probable cause, or causes, of a technical problem before resorting to desparate measures, such as getting brand new equipment, acquiring the services of technical personnel, etc.
