I suggest you try optimizing your computer system's performance first by tweaking its preloaded internet settings. Well, if you don't know the difference between TCPs from PPPs, then get yourself a modem accelerating application to automatically configure the internet settings of your computer for you. Time saving, yes, but you deny yourself from knowing the technical skills required by most corporations and businesses nowadays!
Well, if you do want to know something that would make you seem like an internet technical guru, then I suggest you listen to what I have to say. In order to tweak the speed settings of any internet connection running on a
basic modem, which I think is the case with most home PC setups, I highly advise you to put in a value that is twice the speed of your modem in the system's modem speed setting. Well, many would argue that this tweak is something that would lead the user to have frequent connection interruptions, but hey, what's the risk? After all, if you experience frequent interruptions and disconnections, wouldn't you revert your modem's speed setting to its prior value? If you don't think you'd do that, then I suggest you forget a life with internet access all in all!
