Digital information technology paved the way for a more efficient platform for communications and information access. The internet was borne out of those electronic gizmos which try to digitize everything it is fed! Thus, the perpetual development of this technology is very much seen and felt today. But, there are still people in the world who either choose to have outdated operating systems on their computers, or even old hardware.
So, here is a tip for those who don't know what to do when they are having problems connecting to the internet with their machines running
Windows 98 or the Win98 SE operating systems. First thing to do, of course, is to assure if they have the latest drivers installed on their machines. How is this done? Of course, you have to contact or get information from your modem's manufacturer for this trick. Most manufacturers, if not all of them, are very much willing to provide assistance regarding your modem's latest drivers. You could either do a search on the internet for the manufacturer's website. These websites usually have a page on it wherein the latest drivers for every single modem they have released are available as free downloads.
But if you don't have internet access on other computers well within your reach, then call their technical support office for further assistance. If you do any of these two steps to get in touch with the modem developer, then make it a point to mention your computer's platform, which is either Windows 98 or Windows 98 SE. You see, modem drivers are operating system dependent, which means that there are specific modem drivers for each modem and for each operating system. This is very important since installing the drivers of the modem, however current it is, on an operating system is not compatible with what would result in a non-functioning modem.
